Big Tech: A Busy Day

hwms.coverart

Money isn’t everything

Ideas are surprisingly important

But people carry the ideas.

And promote the ideas.

And analyze, and dispute, and contradict, and accep,t and reject, and all the rest of the things that you do with ideas.

In the process, the people find themselves carrying, promoting, analyzing, disputing, accepting and rejecting each other.

The story continues with a meeting of of the HWMS staff in our slightly cramped conference room with its perpetual view of the Capitol Hill Power Plant.  Events start to unfold and they are the events of ideas, ideas that remind us what a busy day can actually be.

Second episode in the new series begins “What Big Tech Doesn’t Know” from the audio drama “How We Manage Stuff.”

  • Sulley, HWMS Washington Director – Josh LaForce
  • Yasmin, Attorney-Advisor – Sahara Ale

Kaffe Logistiks: Epilogue

hwms.coverart The end. It’s never quite what you expect. In part, it’s really a beginning, though the beginning may not include you. So we get only a hint of how the story will progress.  A family has been reconciled.  One troublesome employee has moved to the competition.  Another is still in the offices. We have installed a new tech system but the benefits of that system are not obvious.  Not in revenue.  Not yet. And so the series ends with the consulting team returning to their homes.  the client starting a new life, and How We Manage Stuff ready to progress to a new story. The last part of our story on technology consulting. Cast:
  • Kit, Director of Consulting – Kit Kuksenok
  • Evelyn, the Business Manager – Margaux Amie
  • Anna the Intern – Sarah Corbyn Woolf
  • Arndt, Rohit –  Noah Masur

Kaffe Logistiks: Confront and Advise

hwms.coverart “Complicated” You don’t talk.  It’s “complicated.” You don’t act.  It’s “complicated.” You don’t know what to do.  It’s… You can see the pattern. Our consulting at BKL Coffee Logistics has been strained.  This owner had this grad idea to start the job and then vanish to a retreat in the Swiss Alps.  He wanted to keep out of the way, he said.  He wanted to let things take their course. He may have had a plan. He may have been improvising. He may have been frightened. But today, a brave niece tries to get an honest conversation started.  A niece who has a career that is only vaguely related to coffee. Ninth episode in a series on the ins and outs of tech consulting. Cast:
  • Kit, Director of Consulting – Kit Kuksenok
  • Klara, niece of owner of BKL – Sahara Ale
  • Peter, Friend of Florian  – Ron Bianchi
  • Florian Bohne, Owner BKL – Josh LaForce
  • Ida, Friend of Florian  – Debbon Ayer

Data Driven Decisions and the Office in India

hwms.coverart We sent the cast to Bangalore. We went looking for an office. It was a hard task. Harder than any of them thought.   There are a lot of choices for a small tech organization in india and a lot of opinions among the cast.  So they ultimately resorted to numbers – not because they trusted numbers. They used a numerical process to build trust in themselves. Cast:
  • Jameela the Bangalore Office Manager – Saraha Ale
  • Anna the Intern – Sarah Corbyn Woolf
  • Sulley from PR – Josh LaForce
  • Evelyn the Office Manager – Margaux Amie
  • Bix the Master Scrum Master – Ron Bianchi

We tell you a story.

Isn’t that enough?

All to entertain you for a moment.

All to help you understand the truth.

We’re How We Manage Stuff.  We’re an Audio Drama.  Let us tell you a story.
